What Chapter Reminders Cost and What Shapes the Price

A plain look at what you pay for chapter reminders on Dreamy Love Stories, what is free, and which choices about plans and phone settings change the real cost for you.

Start with what reminders actually are

Reminders for New Chapters is a small feature with a simple job. You choose which stories you follow, and when a new chapter is ready you get one quiet nudge on your phone. There is no separate fee for the nudge itself, and no add-on to buy. I am Kavita, and I answer reader questions about plans and billing every day, so the first thing I explain is that reminders are not sold on their own.

What you pay for, if anything, is the plan behind the stories. The free tier lets you read Chapter 1 of any story, and you can follow a story from there. The paid subscription opens the full library, which is where most followed stories lead. So the cost of reminders is really the cost of staying with a story past its first chapter.

What the free tier gives you

On the free tier you can start any story with its first chapter and decide whether it deserves your evenings. If you follow a story, a reminder tells you when new chapters appear. Many readers use this to sample several dramas, such as a slow-burn romance and a family-secret story, before choosing one to stay with.

The limit is straightforward. Chapter 1 is free, and later chapters sit behind the subscription. A reminder can tell you that Chapter 4 is ready, but opening it needs a paid plan. I would rather say this plainly now than have you discover it at eleven at night with a story half read and a notification waiting.

  • Chapter 1 of every story is free to read
  • Following a story and getting its reminders costs nothing extra
  • Later chapters need the paid subscription

What drives the price you pay

The price you pay comes down to three choices. The first is whether you stay on the free tier or subscribe. The second is whether you pay monthly or yearly, since the two plans are priced differently and the yearly one works out lower per month. The third is how many stories you actually follow and finish.

Reminders do not change the price, but they change how much you use what you pay for. A reader who follows two stories and reads every new chapter gets far more from a month than someone who subscribes and forgets to open the app. The current plan prices are on the Prices page, and I would send you there rather than quote figures here that may be out of date.

Following fewer stories often costs less in practice

It is tempting to follow every drama that looks interesting. Each one adds a reminder, and each reminder is a small promise that you will come back. When too many pile up, the nudges start to feel like a chore, and a subscription you rarely use is the most expensive kind.

I suggest following two or three stories at a time. Pick the ones you would read on a commute or late in the evening, and let the rest wait in a reading list. This keeps your reminders meaningful, keeps your reading steady, and makes it easier to judge whether a monthly or a yearly plan suits the way you read.

  • Follow two or three stories, not ten
  • Keep the others in a reading list for later
  • Review your habit after a month before choosing yearly

Hidden costs to watch on your own phone

The app does not charge for reminders, but your phone has its own settings. If notifications are switched off for the app, or your battery saver closes it in the background, the nudge may arrive late or not at all. That is not a billing matter, yet it affects whether you feel your plan is worth the money.

A few minutes in your phone settings solves most of it. Allow notifications for the app, and check that background activity is not restricted. Mobile data is a small cost for some readers, though chapters are short and light to load. If a reminder ever seems to be missing, write to us through the contact page and we will help you trace it.

Cancelling and refunds, in plain words

If you subscribe and later decide the reminders and chapters are not for you, you can cancel. What happens to a payment already made follows our refund policy, which sets out the conditions clearly. I would encourage you to read it before you pay, not after, so there are no surprises on either side.

When readers write to me about this, I answer in plain language and tell them exactly what applies to their case. Nobody should feel stuck in a plan because a notification made them unsure. If you are undecided, start with the free tier, follow a story, and let a few reminders arrive before you commit to anything.

Reminders for New Chapters cost nothing on their own. The real price is the plan that lets you read what the reminder points to, shaped by monthly or yearly billing, how many stories you follow, and how well your phone lets the nudge through. Start free, follow a few stories, and judge after a few weeks. If anything is unclear, I am happy to explain it in a reply.
